I don’t even remember the last time I saw one. BMW HP2 Megamoto for sale, probably one of the most personal and exclusive frames that have come out of the assembly lines of the Bavarian company. Now we can get this incredible copy for sale at the British dealer The Bike Specialistslocated in Sheffield.
If we look back we can remember and put this legendary range of motorcycles under the acronym HP2 in context. As you all remember, BMW Motorrad included within this select category the Sport, Enduro and this variants. Megabike. This last one is probably the most exclusive and unknown of all of them.
BMW HP2 Megamoto in detail
According to official sources, between 2007 and 2012 the brand only produced 3,500 units of HP2 Megamoto. A frame that at that time had a really small market niche. As direct competition we only found another rare bird of the moment, the KTM 950 Supermoto. In short, a concept that is still not widespread in the form of a high-performance supermotard.
As the most notable element of this set we find its marvelous twin-cylinder boxer. 1,170 cc, capable of offering up to 113 HP at 7,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 115 Nm at 6,000 revolutions. This was equivalent to 8 HP more than the Enduro variant, which it theoretically replaced.
For the cycle part, the German brand provided this HP2 Megamoto of all those premium accessories that were supposed to be on a motorcycle of this caliber. Among them an inverted fork signed by Marzocchi or a rear monoshock made by the Swedes from Öhlins. Braking was entrusted to the Italian specialist Brembo, directly inheriting the equipment used by its range sister, the BMW R 1200 S.
The copy that we bring you to these lines today belongs to the 2010 “vintage” and currently has just over 7,000 miles on its odometer (about 11,300 km).
