The Hornet saga has been setting the pulse of the naked segment for more than two decades. Since its debut in 1998, each generation has managed to combine urban agility, sports performance and excellent value for money. The latest evolution, the CB750 Hornet 2027, recovered in 2023 the original spirit of Honda’s most famous bee, adapting it to the new times with a radical design and a twin-cylinder engine that is as efficient as it is fun.
Last season, Honda was not satisfied with maintaining its reign among the naked averages: it went one step further with the optional incorporation of the Honda E-Clutch, the innovative electronic clutch system that allows you to change gears without operating the lever. This evolution, added to improvements in equipment, connectivity and finishes, consolidate the Hornet as an absolute reference for its balance between performance, technology and ease of use. For 2027 the brand focuses on the aesthetic aspect with the arrival of four new color schemes.

The heart of the 2027 CB750 Hornet remains the same 755 cc parallel twin engine with 8-valve Unicam distribution, inherited directly from Honda’s experience in off-road competition. Its compact and lightweight architecture delivers 67.5 kW (92 HP) at 9,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 75 Nm at 7,250 rpm, figures that, together with a curb weight of just 192 kg (196 kg in the E-Clutch version), give it one of the best power-to-weight ratios in its class.
The crankshaft set at 270° and the irregular firing order give the engine a lively character, with a pulse very similar to that of a V-twin, offering linear power delivery and a sound full of personality. The intake system uses Vortex Flow Ducts, which optimize air flow into the combustion chamber for immediate response and more efficient combustion.
Inside, every detail has been designed to reduce size and weight: the water pump is integrated into the side cover of the engine, the primary gear acts as a balancing shaft and the Ni-SiC (nickel-silicon-carbide) coating of the cylinders, inherited from the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade, improves durability and reduces friction.
The result is a compact, efficient engine with an average consumption of 23 km/l, which allows it to exceed 340 km of autonomy with its 15.2 liter tank. In addition, a version adapted to the A2 license with 35 kW remains available, without losing the sporting spirit or the exciting character that characterizes the Hornet.

For 2027, the CB750 Hornet maintains the steel diamond-type chassis with a weight of only 16.6 kg, optimized in rigidity and geometries to offer immediate response and great stability both in the city and in sports driving. With a wheelbase of 1,420 mm, a steering angle of 25° and 99 mm of trail, the Hornet displays a perfect balance between agility and poise.
In the front we find a 41 mm inverted Showa SFF-BP (Separate Function Fork – Big Piston) fork, with 130 mm of travel, which offers excellent reading of the asphalt and great absorption capacity. At the rear, a Showa rear shock acts through a Pro-Link system with 150 mm of travel and seven-position preload adjustment, ensuring progressive and predictable suspension.
The braking system is at the height of its performance: double 296 mm front discs bitten by four-piston Nissin radial calipers and a 240 mm rear disc with a single-piston caliper. The light alloy wheels, with a “Y” design, mount 120/70-ZR17 tires at the front and 160/60-ZR17 at the rear, perfectly balancing grip and agility.

The main protagonist of the 2027 CB750 Hornet is the Honda E-Clutch, the revolutionary electronic clutch system that debuted last season after its introduction on the CB650R and CBR650R. This device allows you to start, stop and change gears without having to operate the clutch lever, automatically managing the transition between gears using electric motors and sophisticated electronic logic that controls parameters such as speed, throttle opening or pedal position.
The result is a faster and smoother transition than with a traditional quickshifter, especially in downshifts, where the system applies an auto-blip function coordinated with the Throttle-by-Wire (TBW) to match engine and rear wheel revolutions. Still, the rider can use the clutch manually at any time, and the system automatically reactivates after a few seconds. In addition, it allows you to adjust the hardness of the shift pedal (firm, medium or soft) to adapt the sensation to each driving style.
The TBW system also allows you to select between five driving modes: Rain, Standard, Sport, User1 and User2, customizing power delivery, engine braking and the intervention of the Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) with integrated Wheelie Control. Everything is managed from a 5-inch color TFT screen, with excellent visibility thanks to its optical union technology and full connectivity through the Honda RoadSync app, compatible with Android and iOS. This interface allows you to receive calls, listen to music and turn-by-turn navigation using a Bluetooth intercom.
In the safety section, the Hornet incorporates full LED lights, turn signals with automatic cancellation function and ESS (Emergency Stop Signal) system, which activates warnings in case of emergency braking. It also includes a new undercowl as standard in the E-Clutch version, which reinforces its aggressive aesthetics and improves the aerodynamic integration of the assembly.
