With the arrival of the new Honda WN7 2026, the Japanese firm takes a decisive step towards the future of electric mobility on two wheels. It is its first full-size electric motorcycle, a model that not only embodies the brand’s commitment to carbon neutrality, but also introduces a new era in design, technology and performance within the Honda portfolio. The WN7 2026 combines the know-how accumulated over decades in combustion engines with a modern and silent vision of urban motorcycling.
This electric naked, derived from the EV FUN Concept prototype, represents a new way of understanding the pleasure of driving: without emissions, without unnecessary noise and with a direct connection between the rider and the machine. Its development has been carried out entirely in Europe, with exhaustive tests that have allowed Honda to adjust every detail of its dynamic behavior, load and daily usability.
According to its project leader, Masatsugu Tanaka, WN7 2026 seeks to “make the pilot feel like the wind”, offering a smooth, fluid and emotionally enveloping experience.
Honda WN7 2026 engine
The 2026 Honda WN7 uses a next-generation liquid-cooled electric drive, capable of offering 50 kW of maximum power and 100 Nm of torque. This configuration guarantees an immediate and forceful response, especially in the urban environment, where instant power delivery is key. In addition, it has a continuous power of 18 kW, which places it in the middle segment of the Honda range (level 7 on the brand’s internal scale), and an A1 version limited to 11 kW, designed for drivers with a lower license.
Power is provided by a 9.3 kWh high-voltage (HV) battery, designed to provide a range of up to 140 km in the WMTC cycle (153 km for the 11 kW version). The final transmission by toothed belt provides smoothness, silence and minimal maintenance. In terms of performance, the WN7 2026 can accelerate from 0 to 50 m in just 3.9 seconds and reach 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds, even surpassing models like the CB500 Hornet in this section. The maximum speed is 129 km/h, with 127 km/h sustained continuously.
The engine and Power Drive Unit (PDU) assembly is mounted under the pivot point of the swingarm to optimize weight distribution and lower the center of gravity. This arrangement, together with the use of helical gears, minimizes vibrations and noise, offering a particularly refined driving experience.
Chassis, suspensions and brakes of the Honda WN7 2026
The structure of the Honda WN7 2026 adopts an innovative “frameless” aluminum chassis, in which the battery acts as a supporting element. This design, developed using hollow parts and aluminum castings, achieves torsional rigidity equivalent to medium-displacement Honda motorcycles, but with a perfect balance between agility and comfort.
The front axle mounts a 43 mm Showa inverted fork with 120 mm of travel, while the rear uses a Showa mono-shock absorber anchored to an aluminum Pro-Arm single-sided swingarm. The dimensions, with a launch angle of 25°, trail of 99 mm and wheelbase of 1,480 mm, offer maneuverability comparable to that of the CB500 Hornet, although with a more relaxed driving position. Curb weight is 217kg, with a seat height of 800mm and a narrow body of just 260mm, improving ground access.
The braking system, signed by Nissin, combines double 296 mm front discs with double-piston calipers and a 256 mm rear disc. Braking management is handled by cornering ABS with integrated IMU, which improves stability even when leaning. The five-spoke aluminum wheels wear 120/70-17 tires at the front and 150/60-17 at the rear, ideal for both city and highway use.
Technology and equipment of the Honda WN7 2026
In the technological section, the WN7 2026 is one of the most advanced electric motorcycles in its class. It has four driving modes (STANDARD, SPORT, RAIN and ECON), which adjust power delivery, traction control and the level of energy regeneration. In addition, the rider can manually modify the regenerative deceleration level between 0 and 3 using controls on the handlebar, allowing the engine response to be adapted to the type of driving.
The electronics are completed with the Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), the Selectable Speed Limit Assist (SSLA) – which allows speed to be limited to avoid excessive acceleration – and the Walking Speed Mode, with a low-speed forward and reverse function for maneuvers in confined spaces. The entire system is managed from a 5-inch color TFT screen, which offers connection to the Honda RoadSync, allowing step-by-step navigation, call management, music and specific consumption and autonomy data.
In terms of lighting, the entire equipment is LED, highlighting its double headlights with projectors and daytime running lights (DRL). The turn signals have automatic cancellation and an emergency stop signal (ESS) function, which activates the emergency lights in case of sudden braking. The motorcycle is started using Smart Key, eliminating the need for a physical key and facilitating more agile and safer use.
Regarding charging, the WN7 2026 can be connected to both a household socket (5.5 hours for a full charge) and a 6 kVA wall charger (2.4 hours). In addition, it is compatible with the CCS2 fast charging system for cars, allowing you to recover from 20 to 80% of the battery in just 30 minutes, which is equivalent to an additional 89 km of autonomy.
Colors and accessories of the Honda WN7 2026
The 2026 Honda WN7 will debut with three contemporary and sober style finishes, which reinforce its futuristic image:
- Mat Pearl Morion Black
