Suzuki lands in the mid-crossover segment

Suzuki announces the launch of the new SV-7GXa completely new motorcycle that comes to battle in the medium displacement segment. Developed from the historic SV650, the SV-7GX combines the sporting agility and character of the legendary V-Twin engine with the driving comfort and advanced technology typical of the Japanese firm’s touring and adventure motorcycles.

With the SV-7GX, Suzuki gives shape to its vision of a crossover motorcycle: a machine capable of offering the handling of a naked with 17-inch wheels, but with the upright riding position and comfort of a tourer. The result is a motorcycle that adapts naturally to both urban commuting and weekend getaways or long trips, offering a successful balance between performance, comfort and control.

Suzuki SV-7GX in detail

Engine

At the heart of the SV-7GX beats the 645 cm³ 90-degree V-twin engine, a legendary engine in Suzuki’s history that combines smoothness, strong torque and proven reliability. Delivery 73 HP at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 64 Nm at 6,800 rpm, complying with Euro 5+ regulations. With a 17.4 liter fuel tank and an average consumption of 4.2 liters/100 km, the brand announces a remarkable autonomy.

This mechanical evolution now incorporates electronic accelerator (Ride-by-Wire), three driving modes selectable through the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS), a three-level traction control (STCS) and a bidirectional Quick Shifter that allows up and down gears without using the clutch.

Cycle part

The cycle part has been designed to offer balanced and accessible behavior. The tubular steel chassis, characteristic of the SV family, maintains great rigidity and a low center of gravity, favoring stability and agility. The ergonomics have also been carefully reviewed; The aluminum handlebar, wider (740 mm) and closer to the rider, together with a redesigned seat and a contained height of 795 mm, guarantee a comfortable and natural position for riders of any size. The brand declares an official weight of 211 kg.

The 41 mm telescopic front suspension and the rear monoshock with seven levels of preload adjustment offer remarkable comfort on the road and precise response in corners, while the braking system with double 290 mm front discs and four-piston calipers, together with the standard ABS, ensure constant control in any circumstance.
