its 675SR-R already challenges the big ones

CFMoto and the new 675SR-RR They are already preparing for their official debut in the TT Isle of Man 2026, as confirmed by the team in charge of undertaking this difficult undertaking, Moto Twelve Racing. A sporting association that since 2025 also extends to the competitive British Motorcycle Championship, although there will not be the same riders competing in both competitions.

CFMoto was already “incognito” at the IOMTT

It has been 12 seasons since WK Bikes, a motorcycle importer in the United Kingdom, participated in the Lightweight TT category. As a curiosity, that motorcycle had been manufactured by CFMoto in China, although its name did not appear on any of its parts. In fact, the team participated under the WK brand, in reference to the import company that promoted that sporting adventure.

Sponsored by Monster Energy, the team entrusted the controls to Australian David Johnson who would try to prove his worth on June 8, coinciding with the last day of that TT in 2013. A fact that undoubtedly puts historical context to the brand’s return to the legendary British track, although this time officially with the drivers. Shaun Anderson and Jamie Cringle aboard the CFMoto 675SR‑R.

CFMoto will “officially” debut at the 2026 IOMTT

The latter has commented on the matter: “As a 28-year-old rider born and raised on the Isle of Man, this is a great opportunity for me and I am incredibly grateful. I am really looking forward to getting to know the bike and the Moto Twelve team, and competing on the Mountain Course. A huge thank you to the entire team for the trust and this incredible opportunity.”

For his part, Anderson explained: “I’m very excited to be involved in a new project like this. You can see that the bike has been competitive in the BSB Sportbike and we hope to be able to keep that momentum going on the island. Hopefully we can test it soon to understand it better. I think we will have a tough battle against the best Supertwins, but we will learn a lot during the first year, which will be a challenge, but I’m looking forward to getting started!”

The team will compete in the recently expanded Sportbike category, facing off against top-level rivals who have extensive experience in the event. Leading the project is Eddie Robertsteam owner and race director. He has extensive experience both in the IOMTT and in various international competitions.

In addition, Roberts had several successes as a driver, including victory in the 1975 Production TT alongside Charlie Williams aboard a Honda 500. Eddie commented after the news became official: “Returning to the TT as a team for the first time since the late ’80s is a really exciting project for me and the Moto Twelve-CFMoto team. We have two great riders in Shaun and Jamie.”

Now we just have to see what the CFMoto 675SR‑R can offer in a mountain race of this type. After our in-depth test, we were able to confirm that we are facing a truly balanced motorcycle and ready to make us have a great time at its controls. However, the level of demand of the IOMTT will push its technical capabilities to the limit, marking its baptism at the top of world competition.
