Recently, thanks to Cycle World’s teammates, we have known the latest patents related to the new Qjmotor trichillindrical engine, in which it seems that the brand already works.
Currently, the Chinese firm has monocylindrical, bichilindrical in parallel, Bicilindrical V-4 and Tetra online, all of them destined to equip more than a dozen models distributed by most segments that we currently find in the two-wheeled sector.
New tricylindrical engine of qjmotor in detail
The images submitted in the registration application leave no doubt, although the lower section of this future new tricylindrical engine of qjmotor is not clearly displayed. In any case, the cooling system and the parts that make it up confords the disposition of the cylinders and especially the technical architecture that this mechanic has.
On the other hand, there is an even more striking aspect in this patent related to this new trichillindric engine of Qjmotor, and it is the fact of being directly related to an automated configuration change system similar to that used by the Yamaha and-MT, with two external actuators (clutch and gear lever). The first would be electromechanical and already appeared in another brand patent in 2023. Subsequently, a very similar system was released in the launch of SRV 300A in 2025.
In any case, the design of the new Qjmotor trichillindrical engine does not be too much from the one in the trichillindrical mechanics of 700 cc zontes, in turn inspired by the CP3 that equip Yamaha’s mounts. In this way we can expect a displacement around 699 cc, thanks to internal levels of 70 mm x 60.6 mmif we talk about diameter and maximum race.
This mechanical compendium should offer a final power around 100 hp and a maximum torque of the order of 76 nm. If we take into account the speed with which Asian brands pass from the patent to the final model, it is likely that in just a few months qjmotor has some model equipped with this possible cylindered online three-cylinder.
