KTM did not want to end the year without introducing us to the most radical version of its high-performance ADV, the new 1390 Super Adventure R 2025after the official launch of the new 1390 Super Adventure S and the EVO variant of the same, equipped with a higher level of technology and numerous improvements.
Following this pattern, the R version aims to become the Offroad benchmark in the category, thanks to numerous changes compared to the previous version.
KTM 1390 Super Adventure R 2025 in detail
For 2025, the 1390 Super Adventure R features a completely new body design, LED lighting, a shorter, more Offroad-focused windshield and more storage compartments. It also includes an increase in chassis rigidity, which improves maneuverability and stability on the track. A redesigned crash bar, included in standard equipment, has also been stiffened to provide better protection thanks to an additional arm towards the engine mount.
Unlike the 1390 Super Adventure S and the EVO variant, the 1390 Super Adventure R is equipped with a more traditional suspension setup, more suitable for harsher Offroad use, with a 48mm WP XPLOR split cartridge fork and a WP XPLOR Progressive Damping System (PDS) shock who takes care of the tasks in the back.
The engine displacement increases from 1,300 to 1,350 cc, which translates into a declared maximum power of 173 HP at 9,500 rpm and 145 Nm at 8,000 rpmwith new Camshift technology that provides better drivability in the low rev range. This makes for a smoother response when negotiating tight trails. Additionally, it provides variable valve timing with two individual cam profiles.
At higher revs, the intake cams shift laterally, opening the valves longer and higher to allow more gas into the cylinder head, dramatically increasing performance, while at the lower rev range, the intake cams intake have reduced valve timing and lift. This results in a noticeable increase in drivability both in normal city road conditions and in high-performance use on faster open roads.
On the other hand, the 2025 KTM 1390 Super Adventure R also receives KTM’s new premium electronics package, with a Brand new 8” vertically mounted instrument panel. The 8” touch screen features inductive technology, allowing easy operation, even with thick winter or off-road gloves.
The display also features an innovative anti-reflective, anti-fingerprint and anti-glare coating that improves overall readability, as well as giving drivers access to new driving modes, built-in navigation and connectivity features.
The brand has not yet announced the final price of its new one, but it will be available at KTM dealerships in early 2025.
