Stellantis boasts electrification with 65 plug-in cars across its 11 brands

We already saw in its day that the creation of Stellantis was going to be a hot topic. The merger of PSA and FCA gave rise to a conglomerate that automatically entered the top of manufacturers by volume. In these years, if they have fought for anything, it has been for cost reduction and evolution. The path that would meet both objectives has been electrification And now they show us the enormous role that they have in their family. Let’s review how they face this time of change and energy transition.

The first thing to say is that they have 65 cars with plugwhich are those plug-in hybrids and 100% electric that boast the DGT’s ZERO label. It is a really high number, although it should be noted that they achieve this figure by adding up models of a total of 11 brands. It should not be forgotten that under the Stellantis umbrella are Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Citroën, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Jeep, Lancia, Leapmotor, Maserati, Opel and Peugeot.

We will discuss some new brands later, but first we have to point out that they are vehicles of all kinds, in all segments. Many of them are produced nationally, with the following specifications: plants in Madrid, Vigo and Zaragoza adapted to manufacture electric vehicles. With all these electrified vehicles, we are contributing to reducing emissions, although there is still much to do. In Spain, the Electricity market share is 4.4%well below the 12.4% of the rest of Europe.

It is clear that this is a step that must be taken, but a boost is needed by all institutions. In addition, the charging infrastructure is also behind that of our neighbouring countries. Stellantis maintains the Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan so that all its vehicles will be electric starting in the next decade. To do this, it is working on four flexible platforms which will house all of its future STLA Small, STLA Medium, STLA Large and STLA Frame vehicles.
