We already told you at the time, that is, at the beginning of 2023, about the CFMoto to develop an efficient and dynamic four-cylinder V engine with more than 200 hp. Now, at the end of 2024, and as we are telling you, this idea of the Chinese company is gradually becoming a reality.
How do we know? Obviously, they have just presented this engine in Milan. And its technology comes to make everything a little more fun. Its performance figures, of course, are scary.
This is CFMoto’s surprising V.04 mechanics
The V.04 engine CFMoto It is emerging as a powerful mechanism capable of generating impressive 209 hp at 14,500 rpm, along with a maximum torque of 114 Nm at 12,500 revolutions, and a light dry weight of only 61.5 kg. This 90-degree V engine not only stands out for its power, but also incorporates a counter-rotating (inverted) crankshaft, which improves maneuverability in corners and reduces the suspension effect of the rear wheel during hard braking.
In addition, it features a double overhead camshaft design, oval exhaust port and dual fuel injectors, evidencing the commitment of CFMoto with performance on the track.
Everything we know about the CFMoto “King of Speed” prototype
On the other hand, the conceptual motorcycle presented, «king of speed«, suggests the future design direction of the Chinese giant’s next models. And although CFMoto has not yet specified in which models this engine will be assembled, the striking sculpture of the «King of Speed» in its exhibition area offers an exciting preview of where it could be located.
This motorcycle, with an imposing design, equipped with LED headlights, air inlets, individual seat and an aerodynamic kit similar to that of MotoGP, is a clear vision of where the shots are going to go for what the future production model could be. : The CFMoto 1000SR-R.
The exhaust design stands out especially Akrapovičarranged on the right side, which could reach the final version. In turn, the design of the front wings of the «king of speed«, inspired by fighter planes, provide a futuristic air.
And, although it is likely that the prototype’s double-layer wings will not be maintained in the production version, the structure and audacity of the design suggest that we will see innovative models in the medium term. And yes, with mass production planned for 2026, we’ll see a fierce-looking new V4 sports car in Europe, that’s for sure.
It’s nothing new. That thing about the Chinese copying everything is slowly changing. In fact, and as we have told you on several occasions, they have been developing their own models for a few years and, furthermore, with great success. In recent years, CFMoto has been gaining ground with its three-cylinder engines in models such as the 675SR-R and 675NK.
Now, this new four-cylinder V engine marks a key advance for the brand to enter the high-performance super sports car market. If all goes according to plan, the 1,000 cc super sports car from CFMoto It will be ready in 2 years, ready to face European giants such as Ducati and Aprilia.
