The Himalayan Electric 2.0 is approaching series production. This is the plug-in model based on the 450

Once again, the Milan Motor Show has allowed brands such as Royal Enfield to take into account their future plans. In the case of the Indo-British firm, the next Himalayan Electric 2.0 It is one of their current puzzles in which they constantly dedicate time and resources. With an eye on the coming years and after the official presentation of the new Flying Flea C6, the future plug-in Himalayan is the undisputed protagonist of this new evolutionary stage of the brand itself.

Now, thanks to the colleagues at Gaadi Waadi we have some of the images of the official presentation of the future Himalayan Electric 2.0 at Motoverse 2024. In them we can see how Royal Enfield has gone one step further in terms of design with respect to the first concept presented at EICMA 2023 under the name Him-E.

Himalayan Electric 2.0: Very close to the production model

The feeling that this Himalayan Electric 2.0 gives us is that its physiognomy is very close to what could be a definitive series model. As we see in this evolution compared to last year, it includes the essential elements that a street motorcycle equips, such as control panels, rearview mirrors or a larger front screen that protects the rider more efficiently.

On the other hand, and from a side view, it is obvious how the finishes that concern the propulsion system have been refined. The engine is housed inside the chassis along with a powerful battery pack. The lower part is now covered by a black painted skid plate, while the rear swingarm adopts new shapes and a more refined finish.

Himalayan EV 2.0: One more step towards the plug-in era of Royal Enfield

The gold color of the front inverted fork is maintained and the rear shock absorber has an independent adjustment bottle. This same golden coloring reaches the radial type wheels, shod in any case with a set of Offroad tires. The braking system seems unchanged, something that does not happen, for example, with the handlebars, which are larger in proportion and more oriented towards the rider than in the concept shown last year.

In fact, its lines are very similar to those of the Himalayan 2024, especially in the part of the fuel tank or the side line of the seat and grill, although there are various details that differentiate them. For example, the absence of a high fender in the plug-in version or the elimination of the rear footpegs in the latter. Details that we assume will end up reaching this Himalayan Electric 2.0 in future evolutions of the model.

Himalayan EV 2.0: One more step towards the plug-in era of Royal Enfield

Everything indicates that after the launch of the Flying Flea C6, confirmed for spring 2026, the S6 Scramblerthe third electric model also exhibited by the brand at the Italian exhibition. This should occur in the first half of 2027.

From that moment on, the definitive version of this Himalayan Electric 2.0 should make an appearance, completing this initial EV trio with which Royal Enfield intends to enter the electric segment through the front door.
