This is not the first time we have talked to you about Jedi Motor and it certainly won’t be the last. On this particular occasion we bring you his model Kirin 750 Tourera frame full of possibilities and one that is practically no longer offered on the European continent. This is a medium-displacement motorcycle with good touring capabilities, which also incorporates the level of equipment necessary to tackle long distances reliably.
In the past, in Spain, particularly, we had models like the Honda Deauville 700with a very similar philosophy to that of this Kirin 750 Tourer. However, the arrival of the well-known adventure models has taken over the market in a superlative way, eliminating the natural spaces that these types of tourist-oriented models occupied.
Now, to be eligible for a touring type frame, we must focus on high displacement models. Without leaving Honda we have the NT1100 or BMW has among its offer the everlasting R 1250 RT. In either case we are not talking about a light motorcycle, in any of the aspects. More like devices made to travel long intercontinental distances without flinching.
Jedi Kirin 750 Tourer: Necessary road balance
Focusing on this Kirin 750 Tourer, first of all it is necessary to say that, for now, it is not offered in European territory. Perhaps, as Visor Down’s colleagues point out, in the near future, thanks to the fact that the brand is linked to the Sima business group, it could end up being marketed in these parts. This compendium of companies includes the well-known Mash, which is sold in the European Union. Therefore, could we see a Kirin 750 Tourer renamed under the name of the French firm?
That said, the Kirin 750 Tourer is equipped with the engine found in other models of the brand such as the Sport GT 750 or the Fashion Retro 750. We are talking about a water-cooled parallel twin. 730cc who for the occasion declares 80 HP at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 70 Nm at 7,000 revolutions. Jedi approves a dry weight of 225 kilograms and a seat height of only 780mm.
The Kirin 750 Tourer includes a fuel tank of 24 liters of capacity, giving us good autonomy at legal speeds. Furthermore, as we can see in the images of the model, it has a large front screen, side suitcases or a very soft seat ready to accommodate us during long days of piloting.
At the moment, the new Jedi Tourer is only sold in China, exclusively for the country’s police forces. We do not know if the brand will end up expanding the commercial range and if, if this possibility arises, it will end up reaching our borders, either with the Kirin 750 Tourer or any of the other models that it currently sells.
