Arai has launched this year 2024 its MX-V EVO a helmet intended for off-road practice that has approval ECE 22.06 and outer shell of PB-cLc2. This model, which is positioned as the evolution of the classic MX, combines protection, lightness, ventilation and comfort, becoming the perfect helmet for motorcyclists who practice these disciplines.
Arai, a Japanese helmet manufacturer, bases its entire philosophy on this focus on user safety and on the artisanal manufacture of each and every one of its products, which it has maintained since its origins, more than 70 years ago, until today. This tradition is present in its entire catalogue, also marked by innovation, which they apply in the evolution of their helmets, as shown by the recent MX-V EVOthe ultimate off-road helmet.
Arai MX-V EVO in detail
This new model, approved to ECE 22.06, features a PB-cLc2 (Peripherally Belted Complex Laminate Construction) outer shell, which combines fibre layers reinforced with the innovative “Z-Mixture” resin. This technology maximises impact resistance while maintaining a light weight. In addition, the structure allows for a thinner liner, improving the field of vision without compromising safety.
One of the hallmarks of the helmet and, ultimately, of the brand itself, is the rounded and smooth shape of this shell, which for Arai is the perfect shape for a helmet, as it dissipates the energy of possible impacts in the event of a fall, which translates into greater safety for the user.
Ventilation is one of the strong points of the Arai MX-V EVOresponding to one of the main needs of users who practice off-road disciplines, such as MX or enduro. The helmet has numerous air inlets at the front (chin guard, visor and top of the shell) and various rear extractors, allowing fresh air to circulate through the helmet itself and maintain a pleasant temperature for the user at all times.
Rider comfort is also guaranteed by the addition of a removable and washable Dry-Cool inner liner. Developed and tested in high-level competition, this liner dries very quickly, allowing the head to stay cool and dry, even during long periods of riding. The Arai MX-V EVO also features the Easy Contour System (FCS) for a better fit and, ultimately, greater comfort.
Arai has not forgotten the importance of a helmet that reflects the style and personality of its owner. For this reason, it has designed different graphics for this MX-V EVO, which cover from the most sober user to those who want everyone to turn their heads when they pass by. For the former, this model is available in Glossy White and Matte Black, two solid options that stand out for their elegance and simplicity.
The Track graphic is characterised by the use of geometric lines and a pattern that simulates the characteristic mud stains of these off-road disciplines, as well as the use of strong but classic colours, such as blue, red and yellow. Alongside this, Arai has designed the Stream graphic, in which curved lines, with a psychedelic touch, are the protagonists.
This graphic is available in two versions, one in blue and red tones and another in multicolour, with pink, blue and yellow standing out above the rest. Finally, the Battle graphic, again with geometric lines and star-shaped motifs, is available in purple or yellow and pink.
The MX-V EVO helmet, with a 5-year warranty, can be purchased in sizes from XS to XLby 649.95 euros in the case of solid graphs, or 749.95 euros in the rest of the finishes.
