The tallest skyscraper in the world is still the Burj Khalifa… but it is not exclusively residential. The Senna Tower will exceed 500 m, surpassing the Central Park Tower in New York City (a city that has the three tallest residential towers in the world). If the Six Senses Residences Dubai Marina is completed in the meantime, it could compete, as it is planned to reach 517 metres.
The Senna Tower has been designed by the pilot’s niece, Lalalli Senna, and will feature a base that tapers into a classic rectangular tower shape. The project will have 228 residences, including 18 so-called “suspended mansions” and there are also a couple of “mega-penthouses-triplexes.” There are six floors for leisure, with services, and a rooftop area for residents to use.
It will also house entertainment, leisure and dining areas open to the public at the base, as well as an immersive space detailing Ayrton Senna’s career, life and achievements. The project is still in an initial phase and it is not yet known when it will be completed. Of course, the construction and promoter company FG Empreendimentos assures that it already has permission from the local authorities and that the project has a budget of 3,000 million reais (about 500 million euros).
