Also, to top it all off, the logo uses a typography that bears a disturbing resemblance to that of Alpinestarsthe renowned transalpine manufacturer of motorcycle equipment.
What we don’t know is if Balenciaga contacted Alpinestars before doing this. Is it an ironic tribute? According to Balenciagathese boots are made in Italy, but could they have involved leather artisans? Alpinestars in this transgressive creation?
For the modest price of $8,700 (8,260 euros), these boots are made with calfskin and textured polyurethane on the sole. They include a flexible heel, a pointed toe (yes, really), a “worn effect” and a “hollow out design in front”.
