We all know Can-Am’s creations. Their tricycles and off-road vehicles are benchmarks in their sector thanks to the quality they have always boasted. In addition, recently we have seen their electric bets, adventure motorcycles. But on this occasion what Can-Am is preparing is totally different from what we are used to. They are preparing a helmet that we could consider almost “multi-adventure” due to the number of elements it carries.
We were talking about the ultimate helmet, but perhaps it can still go one step further in the future because we’re going to start with what it’s missing. It doesn’t have a HUD or a visual indication system that makes it the ultimate helmet of helmets. And of course, we can’t consider it a smart helmet.
But knowing that the icing on the cake that Cam-Am has created is missing, now we are going to see what it does have, which is also very interesting. Logically, it could not lack connectivity and for this it has both a speaker and a microphone that is managed through a Bluetooth system. Up to that point it is a helmet with intercom, but there is more.
This helmet has a lighting system, and you might think that this already exists. And yes, we have seen its rear light for low visibility conditions before, but not the front light. It is a flashlight with its own battery that is integrated into the helmet, so that the user can see at night if necessary. And best of all, it can be removed from the helmet and used as a regular flashlight.
Can-Am’s helmet is heated and may be more useful than it might seem at first glance
It also has a heating system, but it is not for our head or our face, although it could end up being noticeable, but for the screen. And instead of using a pinlock, it uses a heating system in it.
It may seem unnecessary and expensive at first, given that there are other systems to prevent fogging. But considering that Can-Am is Canadian and it gets cold there, it is a good system to combat ice or snow formation. It may not be necessary on a conventional motorcycle, but for a snowmobile or side-by-side that can be used in more adverse conditions, it is quite useful when the time comes.
Finally, the entire system that we have seen in the Can-Am helmet, in its patents to be more exact in our words, works thanks to a battery that is located in the back. This battery is responsible for supplying the electricity that all the elements need, except for the flashlight, so that the helmet works as expected.
Now we just have to wait and see if the idea goes ahead and Can-Am puts the idea into production or if it was just covering its back. Time will tell.
